REAA presents Cultural Competency & Eliminating Bias in Appraisals

The State of California requires ALL real estate appraisers to complete 1 hour of Cultural Competency and 2 hours of Eliminating Bias training for your four year renewal cycle and REAA has been approved to offer a 3-hour course with both components.
Cultural Competency (1 hour): Addresses the purpose and importance of cultural competency in appraising and how the lack of such competency can impact the valuation process.
Elimination of Bias Training (2 hours): Learn how to recognize explicit and implicit bias in its many forms. Bias can occur even without our knowledge or intention. We’ll also cover related housing and lending laws, USPAP, and their role in shaping a non-biased appraisal practice. Register now, and get ahead of the game to ensure that your appraisal methods are current in this new era of professional appraisal practice.
