RES-NC Residential Northern California – Interactive Chat

RES-NC, a Northern California Chapter program, connects residential appraisers through quarterly interactive “chats”.
We will be discussing topics of importance to residential appraisers and encourage all residential appraisers to participate.

John Russell, JD
He will be speaking on what changes he predicts will be in store under the new administration.
Russell has fifteen years of experience working on issues affecting the valuation profession. While working at the American Society of Appraisers, he built ASA’s internal government relations department, served as project manager for the merger between ASA and the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, and was ASA’s longstanding representative to the Appraisal Foundation Advisory Council. Significant outcomes include inclusion of appraisal provisions in Title XIV of the Dodd-Frank Act, successfully overcoming efforts to treat ESOP appraisers as fiduciaries, and better clarity around the penalty review process for tax-related valuation misstatements.
John has served on the Board of Trustees of the Appraisal Foundation, along with assisting on numerous Foundation projects and working groups.
These chats are open to everyone, and the format is designed to be casual, inviting and engaging, though registration is required. Whether you are new to the profession or a lifetime professional, join in the discussion.
